We recently moved, and the moving in to the new house is slow going. My office is a wreck right now, and I’m redoing the basement for the kids. Then I have to build shelves for the library. Hanging a fan and barn door on the master bedroom today. My truck needs its 15,000 mile service from Toyota. My gun room needs organizing. I need to purchase a new car for my commute to work. I have to organize the garage. I have to find an electrician and a drywall guy for some specialty renovations.

I’ve been so busy with the above type stuff I haven’t had any time for photography or gun fun.

You are such a phony. Why would you post a dislike on my response that My Country is Broken? You want the shit to burn down. You said that a few weeks ago. Well, it’s happening and you should be happy. F’in fake.

I disliked your comment because we have 100% opposed views in why and how the country is broken and breaking.

You think everything is broken because Trump is disassembling the trajectory of our stupid liberal policy tailspin into communism. I think everything is broken because or society has been running at a million miles a minute into immorality and unsustainability.

Well then, I do agree with what you just said; and I understand why you remarked with a dislike. I take back the phony and fake words. You are one thing, and that is consistent. I have to respect that.

You and I did find one thing to agree on this week. Your dogs are adorable, and I believe they would be good guard dogs.

There’s already some books in there. But I mostly have theology books, philosophy books, technical manuals, and a little fiction. My newest book is actually a collection of Ayn Rand’s writings in “The Objectivist”. I purchased it for a single article that she wrote in regards to a women president that I could not find online.

I didn’t answer this as you posted initially:

    What is broken in your:
Car? Not anymore. Bought a new car a couple of months ago.

Work? My desk is a mess…Must organize.

House? Driveway – we need a new one now that the neighbors have cut their popular trees that have torn up our driveway.

Life? Get back in shape. I injured myself months ago and I stopped going to boot camp. I need to get back into my work out routine.

Heart? I am heartbroken over the state of this country.

Mind? Getting back in shape will help my mind.

Which one will you fix first? I will start my work out routine….tomorrow….just kidding; that never happens. I will start today. The rest will fall in place.

Do you know anybody who does driveways?

I know no one who does driveways. This sounds like a stellar plan. I feel your pain for the state of the country. Maybe the quicker it burns down, the quicker we can put it back together.

My car is in dire need of a wash. I was going to try to take it through the car wash today but that probably won’t happen. Maybe tomorrow, depending on the weather forecast.

My work is fine. It’s not broke.

My house is good too. I just cleaned last night. We’re having company visit for the weekend so I wanted to make sure that things were nice and tidy for their arrival. Plus since they’ll be here, I won’t get to do my normal weekend cleaning.

Life. Life is good. I’m enjoying the summer months and the less demanding schedules for my family.

My heart is in a good place right now.

My mind is okay. It can get a bit overwhelmed at times and I need to take moments to myself to prioritize and manage my thoughts.

My mind will be what gets fixed first. When things are right within pieces of my life seem to fall into place. But I am pretty broke financially, so that’s shitty.

Ah, I like cleaning on the weekends, too! I do all my major cleaning on Saturday mornings. Do you like house guests? I like some of them, the ones who dont infringe.

Yes, Saturday mornings are my cleaning days as well. I actually really love cleaning, being able to relax with a freshly cleaned home is a tiny piece of heaven for me.

I do enjoy house guests but we don’t have a many that stay with us. In our old home it wasn’t quite large enough to accommodate more than a couple people comfortably so we wouldn’t have guests stay with us often. But since we moved we have more space and I’m happy to have people stay with us. Most of the time it’s only over a weekend, so I don’t mind at all.

    It’s basic triage.

Take care of the most serious one first. This almost always has to do with “personal brokenness” — of the mind, the psychology, the spirit (a “broken” spirit is a “soul” — that needs “saving”).

Plus in mending a broken soul into a sound spirit, many many other “things broken” about us personally, sort of take care of themselves almost without effort. Fixing the spirit heals the mind — which then can have a positive impact on the body.

After that, we are talking about “stuff”. Material possessions. Fix the serious safety issues first. But we tend to like getting distracted on the stuff that’s simple to fix — and usually is really not that consequential.

I think i fixed two things today at the same time! I had a broken windshield wiper on my car, and i fixed it. Well, autozone fixed it, but i took the car, and paid for it, instead of asking for my guy to do it for me. In this way i am fixing my emotional health in no longer seeking a father figure.

It certainly does feel good to accomplish something like this, doesn’t it? Even if it’s not radically life-changing!

And one can actually train themselves to springboard off of small victories and ” keep the ball rolling” into more meaningful life victories.

    What is broken in your:
Car? A tiny chip in the windshield, it’s been like that for about 6 years.
    Work? Nothing, I’m retired…LOL
House? The zero button on my T.V. remote, if I want channel 500 I just punch in 499 and scroll up.
Life? Nothing, I’m retired, and enjoying life.
Heart? Nothing, I have a great woman in my life, Lady Barbara Henry.
Mind? That’s up for debate, depending on who you ask…LOL
Which one will you fix first? Probably the windshield, when it becomes necessary.

Forgive me if I use this as an opportunity to wax poetic…

I think a garden is a perfect analogy for a life well lived. it requires intention to nurture and the rewards are directly influenced by effort.

a garden is always “broken” It is never perfect and that’s what makes it so awesome. You can always tweak it just a little bit more.

My life at the moment is a garden that has been well tended. There is actual fulfillment in the fine tuning. Sure, I got some fucking crabgrass in a corner that is pissi….but I digress…put the twittering birds soundtrack back on…Sure, I have some small issues that I could make into bigger issues just by thinking they have the potential to be, but I’d rather focus on the hydrangeas that are blooming and the hostas that always stun me in how fast the grow and the varieties…and listening to the waterfall in the pond and watching the fish who depend on me for the manna I deliver and finally the absolute belief that every obstacle is an opportunity to feel good about solving.

I gotta fix that crabgrass…or screw it, I like riding my lawnmower. easier to just cut it. Nobody can see it anyway except me.

So, yeah, I have some pseudo-broken stuff. My car is with the maintenance lights on, and to get inspection passed, I had to rely on God gracing me with a kind mechanic. I have a root canal next Tuesday. I have pain meds for it now, and just had another tooth removed.

    And, etc.

    But….

When I first watched X-Men, back in, what 99? It inspired me. I started to get serious about working out. Wolverine amazed me. Immortality in the flesh. As the years went on, he, however, the actor, aged noticeably. I did not.

I am one year younger then Hugh Jackman. I just watched Logan with my daughter, and asked her if I looked his age. She said, “you look way, way younger”. It is very true.

In fact, I like to kind of joke around about having a lot of estrogen for a guy. I have smooth soft skin. But, reality is? Teenage boys also have this very same skin. Which is why I passed for a late teenager when I was in my late thirties.

Does that mean I now look my age? No, I do not. My teeth are going more worse now. The most intense years of my life were between mid thirties and mid forties, so my eyes are different. I always had bags, even as a teenager, just, now, I have a different look in my eyes. A more strong intensity. So, I am now no longer going to be accused of not being an adult.

Of course, I get, the rules. This is not something that should happen to anyone. And some, it is hard to tell, are they 25 or 35. We see this a lot with movie stars and such because of plastic surgery, because of advanced video technology which underages them, (really), but, then again… “Being Human” is not so far removed from my life. I know immortals. My best friends literally change bodies. Not that anyone outside could believe this… but it is, regardless, a reality for me.

So, I talked about it back in 2010 Fall, when I joined. And I talk about it now, seven years later. Here and there.

But, the years are moving on.

I am not sure at what age, exactly, it will actually melt people’s brains.

It is not yet like “holy shit, you are a real vampire”, but it is that when people do learn my age, I always know they will be shocked, when they know me face to face.

I never talked young. My dad would just naturally call me “old man” as a child…

But, yeah, teeth breaking down — happened in my twenties. I love coke and smoking.

    Happening worse now. And.

My biggest look forward to at this juncture is just staying relatively the same when I am eighty.

Though one big thing I am wondering is if this is not happening to many. Though, I must say, have not found this so, yet.

Watching twin peaks is especially a real trip for me. They were all my age, or nearabout, just 25 years ago. Now… they don’t look anything like me. Many are barely recognizable. Some with strong personalities, it is almost hard to tell, like the receptionist or kyle, but… still. Lighting.

I carry myself older now. It comes out. All the craziness I went through. Which was… mythic level.

I have seen hell and heaven and god and the devil.

My best friend from high school – whom I was almost surprised to learn was not really human – said I am the same, but just more savvy now.

Anyway. The same can and will happen to anyone.

Even those who have aged, can reverse course.

But, that sort of thing has to enter their mind as a very real and valid possibility.

So, we just need to introduce that idea to planet earth.

We are… as we think we are inside. We are outside, as we think of ourselves inside.

It is not easy to erase entirely all which is seen and known.

But is it not hard, either.

“I did not know you had a daughter,,,or is that a metaphor?”

You do know me, lol. :-)

Well, I learned a long time ago, that all the literals of my life, and in the world, even, are actually metaphoric. So… lol…

There are deep and revealing metaphors about me and matters I believe in my literal children. However, yes, I do literally have children. In fact, four.

        I have three daughters: 27, 18, 9. And one son: 13.

The oldest finished fashion college and has long been working in the fashion industry, in LA and Orange County. (Where I also lived for awhile, though it is her mother’s family which is from that area.)

I am from Texas and currently in Texas, but have lived around the states, here and there, through the years. And through out Texas a bit.

I basically find computer security bugs for a living, I find vulnerabilities. I do risk analysis on that, and create programs to help get them systematically found and fixed (these days). I have also done some key work around this area, such as creating new security software or systems.

Though, I consider that my “day job”, like a cover job. :-)

I do not have to put much time into it, never have. God has insisted. I put most my time and energy into spiritual things.

Why? I do not yet know, exactly.

As it is, I remain ‘as if’ in training, and waiting.

    What is broken in my:
Car —- Well, there is a bike chain impression on my bumper — front right — where I ran over a man on a bicycle. There are pits in my moon roof (or sun roof by day) from my car being outside in an Arizona sand storm (called a haboob).

Work —- Nothing. I am retired and enjoying my time gardening in my green house and feeding my worms in my worm farm and making nice rich black compost.

House —- I am still unpacking things and trying to find places for things. My bathroom is cluttered with items I need to find places for. I need to organize the office/media room. I need to organize the storage room and the garage is a puzzle that only Immortal Pirate can help untangle. The Mesquite tree is dropping pods, but Immortal Pirate and I work on keeping them picked up. I have so much to keep me busy that I don’t even notice anything wrong with the TV remote. I hardly ever get to touch it. But, Immortal Pirate went to Massage Envy for his massage and while he was away ——> I touched the TV remote. I pressed all of the buttons and enjoyed every moment.

Life —- Nothing is broken about my life. I am retired and enjoying life. I love improving my garden with a system of buckets and a self-watering system. It is all looking better and better. The work is it’s own rewards.

Heart —- Nothing broken. I have a wonderful man in my life.

Mind —- I am at peace and surround myself with people that are at peace.

What will I fix first? I will unclutter my bathroom first, then work on the office/media room, then the storage room. The garage can wait until Immortal Pirate doesn’t have anything to watch on TV and nothing is going on with his facebooking. He will get to it when he feels like it and I will be there by his side helping.

He is adjusting to being retired and has lots of friends on facebook. He loves not having to have a schedule and has free-style nights and days. He watches many documentaries on his computer and spends hours learning new things. Since he is not having to report to a job at the prison — where he used to work — he has no one telling him what to wear, or to keep his hair and beard trimmed. He is running amuck and enjoying every moment of it. His beard is long and he has his hair long enough for a good length of ponytail. He loves watching TV and not having any rules, nor anyone bossing him around. (Except his favorite cat, who meows for him to make a lap because he is coming aboard for a cat nap in “Daddy’s” lap.) When it is time to dress up as a Pirate Captain, his long beard and long hair look really good with his outfit. Our lifestyle is so in-the-moment and on-the-fly that we suddenly decide to go somewhere and we grab the truck keys and have an adventure. Life is care free and we make it up as we go.

The cd player in my car is “broken”. I think that, what with the heat and all, something in there is wearing out and now cds will neither set on the spindle or come back out. It’s a fun game to play.

My schedule is broken at work.

My lawnmower is broken at the house.

In life, I’m not sure. Maybe a lot of stuff, or maybe nothing at all.

I don’t know much about my heart.

Mind…well…I can’t get out of my own head, thus can’t get out of my own way, on most days…so there is that.

I’ll probably fix the lawnmower cause it is something that I can actually do?
