Humans have always sought “the higher ideal”. Regardless of whether we were on or off the mark (often trying to cast it as a function of us), doesn’t negate that this drive is endemic to the species.
Perhaps the part of us “made in God’s image” — in the image of “The Creator”. We interact with “the chaos” and out of it create “habitable order”. How enduring, depends upon how nobly we exercise “the Logos” (Truthful and purposeful speech).
There is no “threat” in the questing of other cultures.
Well, perhaps to “ideology” — religiously worshiped.
