Wall Street Journal – NBC poll has Trump 5 points behind.
Washington Post – ABC poll has Clinton ahead by 12.
The world breathed a sigh of relief. It seems to me that the closer we get to the actual election the more people are coming to terms with the fact that maybe this has gone on long enough. A secondary problem may be Evangelicals.
Gay marriage and the pro-life agenda have been key platforms to get the conservative base riled up. Except DOMA is officially dead and with the recent Orlando massacre I think there is a lot of hesitation to speak out against the LGBT community.
Then for those pro-lifers, “in a major victory for abortion rights, the Supreme Court ruled Monday that states can’t restrict access to abortion under the pretense of protecting women’s health — unless there are some actual health benefits.”
Moving forward, this should make it easier to file and win suits against states that use a similar ‘health argument.’
To me, conservative are feeling like there just isn’t much to fight for anymore. Cruz showed that you can’t go into an election spouting off about strong Christian values without being seen as a bit of a nut to moderates and liberals. Also he was creepy – allegedly.
Then Clinton with her 55 percent negative rating is now going to campaign with Senator Elizabeth Warren who early on was seen as a possible contender in the 2016 election because she is well-known in democratic circles, and I think is someone who can cover for Clinton’s public image problem.
I am still bummed about Sanders. I want to believe some of his ideas will impact the next 8 years of the Clinton presidency, but I am sure we’ll just get more of the same.
Anyone else bored? I am.
