Remember 200 days into Obama’s presidency, FOX news got their panties in a wad when Obama ordered Grey Poupon for his sandwich? Wow, that was a scandal!

I have been trying to understand why an obvious idiot could garner the respect of so many and I’m sure there are many different reasons, but I think one of them must be a very unique cultural Americanism that few other nationalities have the capacity to understand.

America sees itself as a winner and winners need to beat something…anything. If you are not a winner; you are a loser. So, what happens when there is no game? You have to create one. Be it a war, or any us against them scenario that provides an opportunity to dig in your heels with the rest of your herd.

I wonder if the whole support of Trump has a foundation on the need to exercise a stubborn resistance just for the sake of exercising a stubborn resistance. That resistance just might make some people, especially those who have nothing else to be proud of, a sense of value that they might not be able to experience in any other way. Stubborn determination is a characteristic that can be considered positive. I know I do.

Why would anyone consider Grey Poupon scandalous unless it is from a sense of uninspired envy? That stuff can turn a piece of ham from plain Jane to explosively exotic Eileen.

I think Trump has tapped into the psyche of those who need a fight to feel value, otherwise, they are on the sidelines with nothing else to inspire them to feel productive.

Think about the trolls who don’t mind being despised. Their craving for attention is such that any kind of attention is better than no attention. Maybe the problem lies in the fact that too many feel undervalued through unemployment, lack of and underachievement, or just plain venting as a way of saying, look at me. I exist.

Even those who have some measure of success can capitalize on the attention of others seeing them as someone not to be messed with.

I know a few people who would rather say no, to prove they have a sense of power, versus others I know who openly listen for a reason to say yes for a win-win.

Win-win, versus win-lose might be at the crux of the matter and America has been conditioned to think a winner can only be defined when a loser is a part of the equation.

What made America great, when I would have done anything to move there to raise my family, was the opportunity to win at life, but now it has become pretty obvious that winning in that environment is no longer a given. 65 million Trump supporters, of which 95% would vote for him again after all the idiocy illustrated, is an indication of a frustration associated with needing to feel like a winner, when perhaps no other reason exists.

You are saying what I have been saying for a while. So many people look at politics like sports. Winners and losers. Except whoever is in office effects all of us. The 45th has made Europe not trust us, while he curtsy a Saudi Prince and has private, Russian only press meeting in the Oval office with Russia. WTF?!

For his supporters, it’s more important for them to believe in their man, believe anything that comes out of his mouse, or from his keyboard; than believe in the TRUTH. HE is a LIAR in CHIEF.

We’ve gone from having to “find fault” . . . to trying to overlook myriads of them parading about pinned to a chubby pink butt.

Actually, I hold to what John Oliver so humorously pointed out about the presidential equivalent of a 5 y.o. crapping in the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday’s. Sure, it’s a spectacle. But the onus needs to shift off the 5 y.o. who might not know any better, and the ones who a) should have taught him better and b) are not stopping him.

Finding fault loses it’s sparkle when there are so BLOODY many traipsing about naked before us. It’s time to move on from what the 5 y.o. is doing, to “what are we going to do about it”? (At least, those who have some say in who leads their nation).

All I can say is, RESIST. Nothing about what is happening in this country or world is normal. The 45th has turned things upside-down and inside-out; but not in a good way. Unless you want to learn to speak Russian.

Well for the time being, can the rest of the world build a wall around the US and get the US to pay for it? The silliness needs to be contained.

This could well be the last hurrah for the GOP. They are not going to be trusted with another administration for years. Not only did they not prevent this debacle, they are now humming and hawing and proving ludicrously slow to even start to do something about it.
