And what could a person in that occupation do to change your perception?

    Teaching.

Work in for profit education institutions and abolish the Department of Education. If that happens I’d think much more highly of teachers.

Child care. I have no understanding of it and don’t want to understand it. Nothing could be said or done to change my thoughts on it. I took care of my own kids and somehow got through it. I cannot understand why anyone would want to make a living taking care of other people’s kids.

@ladybarbara For me that feeling came with age, a natural growing out of finding caring for children fun. When I am in the grocery store now and I hear some kid waling , I cringe

@Scarlett Last night, in the local grocery store, there were several people with screaming babies. Then I saw one child crying and her cry was softly voiced and almost melodic — as a wind reed. I commented that the child had such a quiet cry — almost pleasing to the ear, although it was a cry. The mother said to me, “My daughter is a mute.” ————– I felt terrible and apologized. But, what voice the child had was a pleasing sound.

    Politicians.

    For one.

And, that is a hard question. I think they would really want to be serving the people, and take their job seriously. This is different then the politics of something, like, art and artists, who might be a sort of politician, however.

Problem with being a politician, or CEO, too, is that you are still existing in a world where those who are highest up ‘lord it over’ those beneath them.

I think the world needs to change, and that includes the entire system of government. (I do not, however, believe replacing one manmade system with another is the solution, so I do not believe in ‘getting everyone together’ is the answer.)

@five2one I think there are some good ones, but for many others, they are playing a game

    Lawyers.

They’re snakes who prey on the vulnerable for the most part. And even if they’re not, they’re defending those who are guilty, and due to client-attorney privilege the people they’re defending get off scott free.

Maybe if i saw more doing work with those who needed free legal council, and the ones who are public defenders were competent, it’d be a different story.
