just not enough rounds getting out of that gun right @weenis? fully auto would have sliced and diced more?

BREAKING: Dayton police just held a press conference to say the gunman in the Ohio mass shooting shot 26 people in 32 seconds. The AR-15-style rifle the gunman used to kill nine bystanders was legally modified to hold a 100-round drum magazine and was legal to carry in public.

The ArmaLite Rifle 15 semi-automatic still shoots one bullet per trigger pull. 26 aims and trigger pulls in 32 seconds is a really fast finger and fast ever-changing aim to hit the 26 targets. I don’t know because I did not watch anything about it. But by your numbers, he had an astounding marksmanship.

Why not have fully automatic? Because rapid fire with one trigger pull would just put more rounds in each person shot.

If hunting with automatic fire, all those rounds of showered lead would destroy the meat and the head trophy for the wall. If we hunted with automatic there would be no meat and we would not have our proud wall of trophy squirrel heads.

Perfectly valid and appropriate question. You’re right, there’s no good reason to not have fully automatic weapons.

In 1934, laws were passed that forced registration and classification of guns, machine guns being one of them. In the 30’s, Americans were worried that this type of registration and classification would lead to a machine gun ban. In 1986, that ban was realized.

Up until 1986, machine guns were very regular within the US. Being able to be bought and sold to regular citizens in the same fashion we can buy and sell firearms today to one another.

If you had watched the video from the other thread, you would hear this argument.

Yes fully automatic firearms should be completely legal. Yes, it is an unconstitutional infringement.

Yes, there were more machine guns in the hands of regular citizens, and increased access to machine guns prior to 1986, but we didn’t have the fan fair we do today when it comes to guns.

The mainstream media and politicians, are feeding you lies and propaganda, and you’re lapping it up like a stupid dog eating vomit.

No. Fan fair meaning, the mainstream media picks a minority situation and makes it majority coverage, instead of picking a majority situation, and actually highlighting it.

In this scenario, people like you think rifles with “high capacity” magazines are the end of the world, when they account for less than 1% of all gun deaths.

Prior to 86, the average citizen had ready access to MACHINE GUNS. As in, REAL MACHINE GUNS. But no one really cared about that. They weren’t an issue. There wasn’t morning to night news coverage of it.

And now every news outlet, every politician, is bleating about bayonet mounts and detachable magazines.

We’ve gone from everyone having ready access to fully automatic machine guns, to whining about bayonet mounts.

As if black guns are the problem…
